One thing i dislike is to open tech docs and run into the first paragraph dedicated to explain me why is the whole thing named as it is. Maybe it's just me, and i know is't a short text, but i find this extremely annoying. Most often this is in a Github README, where the autor names the software after his pet, a girlfriend, or as a foreign word and wants to educate me a bit.
The very first paragraph should include what the thing does and how it can help me. Other info is unnecessary. It's like browsing a homepage which fails to clearly explain what's it about - i close it very fast.
Now i don't mean that your pet's name isn't cute or your boyfriend or girlfriend aren't great people. It's just right now, when browsing the docs for the frst time, i'm looking for something totally different. So just put this kind of information somewhere else.
Eventually i really might start to be curious what does the name mean. But that's only after i find out what does it do.
